Surfing, Australian Rules Football and rugby league are popular sports. Iconic urban landmarks such as the grand Sydney Opera House are as popular as natural spectacles like the spiritual Ayers Rock in Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. Rich in history, indigenous Australians were here for 50,000 years prior to European settlements in the late 18th century. Seafood is the star of Australian cuisine, and shrimps on the ‘barbie’ are as ubiquitous as the city cafes serving world class coffee.
