Can a language exchange or homestay help improve exam results?
Yes. On a language exchange, using a foreign language all day and in everyday situations can help build confidence, independence and fluency. Staying with a friendly Host Family or Teacher, your child can experience a full language immersion within a friendly family atmosphere or benefit from structured one-to-one language lessons with a teacher selected and chosen by you. The Homestay Teacher will build a lesson plan around your child’s specific needs. These could range from improving practical conversation or working towards passing an exam, such as Cambridge PET, FCE, CAE or IELTS in the case of exams in English.
This unique combination of experiencing a different culture as part of a complete language immersion will almost certainly lead to better performance in exams.
