The language exchange contract

The language exchange contract

When two members wish to confirm a language exchange with each other they start a Language Exchange Contract. It is completed (or modified) online together and covers all the important information and commitments that you have discussed and agreed. Once completed, both language exchange partners can print a hard copy.

How do I start?

To confirm the exchange once all the details have been agreed, one exchange partner clicks the ‘Confirm a stay’ button. This initiates two Language Exchange Contracts (one Contract for each of the two stays). Complete your Contracts online, together with your exchange partner, to set the terms of the stay. Acceptance of the completed Contract by both partners generates the final confirmation. Both parties can now print a hard copy of the Contract, which lists important information and commitments and is available in a choice of languages.

What the Contract covers

The Contracts set out the terms of the language exchange and the commitments made by each member to each other. They are completed (or modified) online by the two members until they have reached an accord. It includes a list of commitments made by each of the members and acts as security for the language exchange.
