The language exchange contract

The commitments for the receiving Parent Member

The Parent Member entering into a Language Exchange Contract with another Parent Member for the purpose of receiving a child:

  • •Undertakes to welcome the child into his/her family and to take proper physical care of him/her throughout the period of the stay.
  • •Undertakes to help the child to adapt to his/her new lifestyle and do everything he/she can to make the child’s stay enjoyable and beneficial.
  • •Undertakes to notify the partner family swiftly in the event of a problem during their child's stay.
  • •Undertakes, along with his/her family, to speak to the child staying with them and in his/her presence, in the target language of the stay.
  • •Undertakes that all the information provided in his/her published profile is true.
  • •Declares that he/she has provided the partner family with all information on themselves and their child that may have an impact on either stay in particular any health or emotional wellbeing issues, in good faith.
  • •Undertakes to the best of his/her abilities to respect the wishes of the partner member as noted in the Contract.
  • •Is aware of the risk that all or part of the exchange may not be able to take place at the agreed time due to one or other of the families, and in this event – if he/she is responsible for the problem – undertakes to find a compromise solution that is satisfactory for both families.
  • •Is aware of the fact that there may be unforeseen differences between the conditions of both exchange stays (accommodation, excursions, leisure activities, dietary habits, etc.).
