The booking voucher

The booking voucher

Guests buy a booking voucher to confirm a paid stay reservation. But it also acts as a deposit and provides several important safeguards. Once purchased, the stay is confirmed by the site and you can print the detailed contract for the stay and a copy of all the conversations that took place on Lingoo’s secure messaging system. The contract can be important to prove the stay took place for insurance reasons and is highly important for under-age children or non-EU citizens who may need to present this document to pass through border controls. What’s more, payment is made through Lingoo’s secure payment platform and held securely. So if a trip needs to be cancelled, it can be returned (see Lingoo’s Cancellation Policy).

Reservation begins when a guest invites a Host Family or Teacher to co-complete a Paid Language Stay Contract. The contract is then agreed by both parties.

The guest buys a booking voucher to confirm the reservation. It’s a deposit that secures the reservation. It may be subject to UK VAT, depending on where the guest lives.

Both parties can now print the contract. Host Families or Teachers with at least one published evaluation may also request a further 10 or 20% deposit.

The remaining balance of the homestay is payable by the guest member directly to the Host Family or Teacher.  The date(s) of payment and bank details are indicated in the contract.

Once the confirmed stay is completed, an evaluation of the homestay experience can be left on the Host Family’s or Teacher’s profile.
