Become a Host - How does it work?
Becoming a Lingoo Host is like running a home business. That’s because you’re in control. You decide who stays in your home, when they stay and for how long. You have contact with guests before you accept a booking so that you can get to know each other first. You also set your own prices and decide what activities you can offer, from day trips to hang gliding or simply walking the dog.
What your guests will be looking for is an authentic experience of family life and, most importantly, the opportunity to speak English in everyday situations. You will be helping them to build confidence and fluency in a supportive environment. Start by creating a detailed personal profile on Lingoo where you can also read lots of advice from other host families. Once your profile is approved, your offer will go live on our site so students can start contacting you.
After initial contact, you get to know each other and start discussing the details of the stay. When everything is agreed, you accept your first booking. Joining Lingoo is free. Lingoo only takes 15% of the income you earn as a Host– this percentage is calculated on accommodation, and language lessons included automatically for Teachers’ stays.
